Project Materials List
Project Materials List
In Class 3 of my Sublimation Startup mini course, I show you how to create a personalized design for a notebook in which you can keep all of your settings for printing, pressing (time, temperature, and pressure), and notes on where you found your blanks and materials so you never forget again! This notebook will be your LIFE SAVER for your entire sublimation journey!
This notebook project can be made by EVERYONE, whether or not you have a sublimation printer yet and whether or not you can find a sublimation notebook blank. I will show you a variety of ways to make it during class. Pick what works best for your interests and budget.

The Basic Supplies Everyone Will Need
1. A sublimation print (you can either print it yourself, or order one online for a few dollars) -- if you print it yourself, you'll want sublimation paper
2. A way to heat your print (you can either use an EasyPress, an AutoPress, a traditional heat press, a mini EasyPress, or a heat gun) It just needs to get to 400° F -- I do NOT recommend a convection oven or air fryer for this project.
3. White cardstock, white butcher paper, and heat resistant tape
4. A notebook or journal or other piece of material that can receive sublimation ink — here are a wide variety of options:
- A sublimation journal (get from Amazon* or Conde)
- A faux leather binder cover ($5 from Five Below*)
- A glitter notebook ($1.25 from Dollar Tree)
- A regular notebook of any kind with white glitter vinyl, white flocked vinyl, holographic vinyl, EasySubli, sublimation spray, or lamination applied to it to take the sublimation ink (the only caveat is to make sure your notebook material is not going to melt in high temperatures, so avoid plastics and polypropylenes)
- Two pieces of sublimation metal or Cricut aluminum, plus ways to cut and punch it, plus binder rings and paper
- A book of any kind that you cover in 100% polyester fabric after sublimation
- A piece of glitter iron on vinyl*, a stack of plain copy paper*, and ribbon* (or a stapler, or hole punch + rings)
I picked this project so ANYONE could make it, no matter your budget or your availability to supplies. It also serves to show you just how you can sublimate onto SO MANY THINGS!!
